1.When deciding where to rent a house in Wrocław, it's essential to consider various factors like proximity to our university, availability of public transport, and the type of neighborhood you prefer. Here are some of the popular districts and neighbourhoods in Wrocław where you might consider renting a house:

  1. Online Platforms for Searching Rentals

To start your search, you can use online platforms where houses are listed for rent:

https://www.olx.pl/

  1. Real Estate Agencies

If you're new to the city or want assistance navigating the rental market, consider contacting local real estate agencies. Some well-known agencies in Wrocław are:

https://freedom.pl/

  1. Visit the Property

Make appointments to visit potential houses. This will give you a better idea of the neighborhood, condition of the property and if it meets your needs.

Inspect for any problems such as dampness, pests, or needed repairs. Ask about the age of appliances and the heating system.

  1. Understand the Lease Agreement

Ensure you understand the duration of the lease, notice period for termination, and any clauses related to deposits and damages. Typically, landlords in Poland ask for a deposit equivalent to one month's rent.

Lease agreements in Poland are usually in Polish. If you don't speak the language, consider having the agreement translated or explained to you by someone fluent in Polish.

  1. Legal and Administrative Steps

Registration (Meldunek): In Poland, it's required to register your address with the local administration (Urząd Gminy or Urząd Miasta). Landlords should assist you with this process.

If you are not an EU citizen, ensure your residence permits and visas are in order.

  1. Safety Precautions

Be cautious of rental scams. Verify the identity of the landlord and ensure that you're dealing with legitimate listings.

By following these steps, you should be well on your way to finding a suitable rental property in Wrocław. Good luck with your house hunting!
